So in comments downstairs, with Monday's post about Ric Ocasek and Ben Orr's band before The Cars (the hippie outfit Milkwood), constant reader MBowen writes:
I wish I could get a better look at the cover shot...I'd love to get a real look at what they looked like back in the sensitive singer-songwriter era.
Ask and you shall receive, my friend.
Aren't they just the cutest little things?

the cars started in the 70s -- guess they changed their look -lol-
Ocasek is unrecognizable.
The look like they're friends of Meathead on All in the Family.
:-)
Wow. The other two I can tell, but is that really Greg Hawkes in the middle?
Also, I've got too many good albums to catch up with that I'm not going to download and listen to this one, but I'm curious: are the lyrics all about "ladies" and horses and rivers and all the other things sensitive singer-songwriter types were obviously so interested in back then?
I will make the prediction that there aren't too many references to nuclear boots and drip-dry gloves.
No, the guy in the middle isn't Hawkes. Don't know who he is, but I think we can assume he was some loser.
:-)
Hawkes is on the album, though -- played all the keys and did orchestral arrangements.
The lyrics are exactly as you might imagine -- some song titles:
Wintersong
Timetrain Wonderwheel
With You With Me
The album's pretty dire, so you're not missing anything...
OK, they look like the Christian band Third Day.
That makes me chuckle.

A current Christian band?
It's pledge time at wfmu.org ... if you haven't yet, well, you know what to do
