That's a great album...my pal Sal Nunziato from Burning Wood turned me on to that some years ago. Can't believe I never burned you a copy. My bad.
Newell gets his own chapter in Unterberger's Unknown Legends of Rock'n'Roll book, as well as a cut on the CD that came with the book -- it just sparkles with pop goodness. He was also a DIY pioneer, selling his music directly to fans thru cassettes back in the day.
This is one of my fave discs! Thanks for posting!
