I'm very sorry for your loss Steve and best wishes to you and your family. Savor the good memories.
The death of a parent strikes deeply, and differently for everyone. It looks like you had a strong relationship with your mother. She was fortunate to have a son that cared and spent the time that you did. I have no doubt she was proud of you and all you've done.
I don't mean this in a cliched way, but she will always be with you. You'll think of her at unexpected times, she'll pop up in dreams, always a part of you. Some of these times will be painful and some will bring a smile.
My sympathies and thoughts are with you.
