Condolences, Steve, to you and your family. The loss of a parent makes you rethink everything. My mother-in-law, who passed away in 2009, was also a Sunny, and she always told me that she thought she was the only one. Apparently not. Good luck over the next few days.

So sorry, Steve. I lost my mom in 1991, and still think of her every day.

Your mom raised a wonderful son.

All the best...

John

Steve, though I have never met you and many years have past, I feel a connection to you. When I was around 13 years old I started noticing you had replaced Joel Vance in Stereo Review and I gobbled up everything you wrote each month. I owe you as you directed my young ears in what the Brits would call "the proper" direction. I too have lost my mother, now it's been ten years. Prior to that I lost my sister who was 8-years my senior, and, finally, I lost my father when I was only 24-years old. I realize how hard this time is for you. I'll bet, however, you have peace in knowing any suffering your mother ever endured is transcended now. I wish you only the best life has to offer. You have made mine better as I am sure you have countless others. I still love reading your blog just like I enjoyed SR so much more when you came on board. Live your life with the joy of knowing you have blessed to have a long life with your mother, you have also blessed others and your mother is surely in God's presence to which there is that wonderful final victory. My heart goes out to you.
