An Early Clue to the New Direction

From 1987 (apparently -- Wiki informs me there are three distinct versions of this), please enjoy loveable British pop tarts Bananarama and their sort of sprightly cover of The Supremes (post Diana Ross) classic "Nathan Jones."

A coveted PowerPop No-Prize will be awarded to the first reader who gleans the clip's relevance to the theme of tomorrow's Weekend Listomania.

Bands that carried on after the departure of their (crucial) founding member.

"An Early Clue to the New Direction"
From now on Powerpop will only feature groups/people with fruit-based names?! Bananarama, Moby Grape, Fiona Apple, the Raspberries, etc.
Please send my No-Prize to my mother. She will be so proud.

I think Jones is the most frequently used surname in pop song titles. Could make for a lengthy list. So I'm gonna go with that.

Too bad. I figured Friday’s list would include some post-Steve Weasels song.
