When World's Collide

The Grateful Dead meet Hugh Hefner on Playboy After Dark in July of 1969.

Rumor has it this was cut short because the Dead had dosed everybody's martinis and the Bunnies began taking off their clothes.

Gotta love the vibe. Garcia looks particularly amused. That was one bizarre fucking program.

Also, Herb Caen would blanch at your headline.

So nice to see Garcia looking animated and engaged--pretty soon after he would begin his slow decline into Persian brown and become increasingly catatonic, hoarse and unpredictible in concert. And ya just gotta love all those muttonchops!

Happy Birthday Steve, and may you have many more.

What was it about the acid that made people take their clothes off back in the day? Larger doses of Owlsley? Honestly, the taking the clothes off trip seemed to stop in the 70s.

And Happy Birthday muchacho!

This reminds me of a party scene from some bad Corman/AIP exploitation flick about drug-crazed hippies.

In New Paltz we didn't need acid to get naked!

Agreed ROTP. All my group nekkid exploits were acid free as well in Chapel Hill. Not that there were many, OK, the one group nekkid exploit involved no acid.
