Okay, I know that I usually post these things after lunch or later, but I really don't think anybody's gonna get this one. Heh heh.
So -- from 2000, it's the pride of the Bahamas, The Baha Men, and their still ubiquitous ode to canine wanderlust "Who Let the Dogs Out?"
As always, a coveted PowerPop No-Prize will be awarded the first reader who divines the clip's relevance to tomorrow's Weekend Listomania.
But like I said...heh heh.

The obvious first guess: songs re: dogs
Ohmigod, you got it!!!!!!!!
Not.
:-)
Songs Mitt Romney heard the kids might be into?
Failing that, songs in the form of a question?
Songs that you always hear at the ballgame.
(When i am fitter, say the bells of Gary Glitter)
Like Coveted, I too thought this “you’ll never get this fiendish clue” business was actually a triple-reverse subterranean Purloined Letter loop designed to take our eyes off the dogs. But we failed to anticipate that Simels would anticipate that we would anticipate that he would anticipate us thinking it was actually a dogs clue after all and so would add a simple but devastating effective double summersault with half twist to the end of the routine. The triple-reverse subterranean Purloined Letter loop with double summersault and half-twist trick, and we fell for it.
Songs by bands who took their names from geographic places?
Songs that show some familiarity with reggae?
Novelty songs?
Amusing-at-first songs that grow annoying through overplay?
Songs that are enjoyed or conceivably could be enjoyed by drunken football crowds and let me add that I have nothing against such crowds?
All interesting, and Noam's Gary Glitter joke made me laugh out loud.
But noo...............
:-)
Songs about mysteries.
No wait, mysteries, dogs... SCOOBY DOO!
Eh, I got nothin'.
songs that cheerleaders workout to ?
or about a certain kid with the initials JG who belongs in the dog house !
Okay -- here's a hint, although I'm not sure it will help.
It DEFINITELY has to do with the song title.
Song titles that are questions.
Which reminds me - who did put the bomp in the bomp bomp bomp?
The "She doesn't have to have her Young Fresh Fellows tape back" songs referencing other bands edition!
Hmmmm.
Song titles that end in a question marks?
Songs about escaping.
Songs with pronouns?
The who stopped the rain list of songs asking or answering who did what or, more cosmically, who am us anyway?
The Sympathy for the Devil hoo-hoo list of songs singing the "hoo" sound in the chorus or backing vocals?
Hmm....songs that are questions...I like it.
It's not it, though.
:-)
Let's try again -- it's got to do with the MEANING of the song title.
Songs about escaping? Busting out? Breaking out?
(RIP Lux.)
Let's try again -- it's got to do with the MEANING of the song title
Then I'll go with Total Dog Songs That Not Only Inexplicably Got Released, But Became Massive Hits. (Essentially, the flip side of last week's Listomania).
Song titles that include the entire chorus?
Songs of mystery?
Who, where, why, what, when songs?
Investigatory songs?
Songs that make you want to hit the bong?
Trey
Songs comparing men to animals?

Yes! We have a winner! That's exactly it!!!!!!!
And yes, your coveted Powerpop No-Prize is heading to you on the wings of South American vampire bats as we speak.
Just kidding...it's coming by the traditional worm caravan.
:-)
Congrats!!!!
Hey now TJWood, I have to say that was just seriously impressive. Frighteningly incisive reasoning from another excellent early clue. (Simels is used to hanging around such smart people, but I'm not.)
I'd also like to offer a belated second to those who noted that last week's Listomania was among the best ever, and that's saying a lot.
