The famous version of that -- originally on vinyl -- was recorded at my Alma Mater, CW Post, and I was in attendance. To my knowledge Bruce hadn't played it publically before then, and you could have knocked me over with a feather when he pulled it out.
If you can track it down, "Dancing in the snow" by the Leopards is a fantastic, Kinks-y xmas song. It's from their Kansas City Slickers LP from 1977 (i think).

Saw Bruce do this December 16, 1978 at Winterland- a show I'll never forget!
