Tuesday Maureen Dowd Bashing

You know, for whatever reason, when I read one of Dowd's
blithering idiot misogynist columns
about Hillary Clinton, I usually find myself thinking that Mick Jagger wrote this song about her -- Dowd, that is.

Prescient inspirational verse:

"Who would believe you were a beauty indeed
When the days get shorter and the nights get long
Lie awake when the rain comes
Nobody will know, when you're old
When you're old, nobody will know
that you was a beauty, a sweet sweet beauty
A sweet sweet booty, but stone stone cold"

Hey Maureen -- the come-hither looks, the breathy vocal stylings and the casual hair flipping aren't working like they used to, are they?

Good call. And now that you mention it, I think Bill Wyman was copping MoDo's look for this video.

The great lost Stones single. Driving a cab all night, then playing pinball in Grandpa's bar in Chinatown, before it got shot up by the Flying Dragons. I know Pete Hamill says New York was most New York in the '40s, and there's something to be said for Fitzgerald's '20s, Van Ronk's '60s, but the early '80s, man - scrappy, trashed, unstoppable - that's my town. Thanks for bringing it back to another island, another time-zone.

Doin’ it her way, Hillary huffed to reporters on her plane: “If your whole candidacy is about words, they should be your own words.”

I guess that means if your whole candidacy is anti-words, you don’t have to use your own words.

No, you twit, that's not what it means.

God, I can't stand her. And this is the best the NYT can do?

good song, though, and definitely apt!

Peter Spencer --

You got that right about NYC in the early 80s. I never had so much fun in my life -- I look back now and I'm amazed I survived it almost totally unscathed.

Funny, I don't remember too much about the early '80s.

But maybe that's a good thing ...

I think the proper term is "blithering misogynist idiot" - but I could be wrong...
