Bruce Springsteen Birthday Week -- Part Le Troisième

Here's another one I'd forgotten about -- his encore performance at the No Nukes show.

I actually didn't have the heart to look up who the poor bastard that had to follow this was.

Have a great weekend, everybody.

With respect - just one man’s opinion - that kind of stuff is exactly why I was never as big a Springsteen fan as so many of my friend’s were.
Although, - full disclosure - my old band had been known to do an unhinged variation of the James Brown “cape man” routine from time to time. (Steve, you were there and bear partial responsibility.)

Not exactly Carly Simon, is it?

Not sure if the story is apocryphal or if it actually happened -- it may or may not have been included in the movie: I can't recall -- but supposedly somebody told Tom Petty backstage that the audience wasn't booing, but merely calling out "Bruuuuuuuuuuce." Petty's reply: "What's the difference?" Man, I hope that's a true story.

Bonnie Raitt is included in the movie making a joke about what it would be like if his name were "Melvin."

Did anybody follow him? Was he the headliner?
