BTW -- one of the facts about Falwell that the media has conveniently overlooked since day one is that he was a stone segregationist back in the 60s.

One of his sermons of the period got reprinted in the 80s in a book on conservative pols of the Reagan era -- I think it was by the late Randy Shilts -- and it was pretty damning.

If memory serves, if Falwell was ever asked about that part of his past, he was generally allowed to skate with the usual "well, I changed my mind, God forgives us," bullshit.

In any case, he was a thoroughly awful guy, and I'm with you -- I'm not above doing the Snoopy Dance now that the fat shitheel is having a three-way with Satan and Strom Thurmond.; 5/15/2007 2:50 PM

Hmmm. I did find it in an academic source. Could be wrong, I suppose.

More concerningly, you've just removed the one mitigating circumstance of his life. Oh well.
