For those who care, my review of the newly remastered Sly and the Family Stone catalog has just gone on-line at the official website of The Magazine Formerly Known as Stereo Review.
That's Sound and Vision if you're keeping score.
Anyway, read all about it here.
Enjoy!

I was wondering when Sony was going to get around to re-mastering the entire catalog.
It should also be said that Sly produced the great Beau Brummels did he not?
Sly indeed produced the Beau Brummels -- he was the inhouse producer for Tom Donahue's Autumn Records, home of the BBs.
Also Bobby Freeman's "The Swim," and the abortive sessions of The Great Society (Grace Slick's band before the Airplane).
I think Sly also produced the Mojo Men ("Sit Down I Think I Love You")... and of course, he was a top DJ at soul station KDIA for several years.
Fine review. More long-form Simels critical goodness, please.
Wow, Stereo Review is still keeping on? That makes me happy. When I was a baby tiki, and too poor to buy a Rolling Stone or Creem, I would steal, er, I mean, borrow my dad's Stereo Review and High Fidelity mags, since I figured out they actually reviewed some kewl stuff. (Which I also couldn't afford, but whatever.)
Oh, and good review--now I might have to go out and buy some duplicate Sly CDs. Why do I keep reading this blog when you keep making me spend money??? ^_^
