Those kids, who by any objective standard should be international superstars instead of well-regarded cult figures, have never been the musical guests on Saturday Night Live.
And yet this person, who is at best an unintentional parody of a parody of an aerobicist...
...has/just was.
Does this disparity say something about our current pop culture in general or is it merely a reflection of the limits of Lorne Michael's declining acuity?

The Mona Lisa Twins are without question, talented. But the problem I have with every one of the videos you've shared is that, they are bland. There's nothing distinct or "special" about their sound. It's like listening to a Ronco sound-alike hits comp from the 70's. Ever see the Fab Faux live? Great show! But would you prefer listening to a Fab Faux record of "Revolver" or "Revolver?" The Fab Faux only work in person. That's how The Mona Lisa Twins seem to me. They'd kill in a bar after a few cocktails. Beyond that, meh.
