An Early Clue to the New Direction

From 1962, here's venerable greaseball Freddy "Boom Boom" Cannon" and his oft-covered hit "Palisades Park." And yes, it was actually written by Chuck Barris. Yes, THAT Chuck Barris.

As is customary, a coveted PowerPop No-Prize will be awarded to the first reader who divines the clip's relevance to Friday's Weekend Listomania.

You bastard.

Ok, it's not town names per se, but you're close enough I have to give it to you.

Didn't you nail it last week as well? I think either I hate you or I have to start posting less obvious clues...

Anyway, you're coveted No-Prize is being sent via camel express as we speak...

heh... I never knew much about Jersey when I was a younger Texan, but the lover I lived with in Austin who changed the locks on me came from Palisades Park.

It's been an uphill battle ever since for Jersey, in my book/
