Your Wednesday Moment of Words Fail Me

That photo was shot around the corner, i.e., a block away from where a certain Shady Dame and I currently live in Forest Hills (aka the Paris of the North East).

None of those store fronts are still there; now it's a Starbucks, a CVS and a Fed Ex, among others.

But I can tell you from first hand -- the spirit lingers on!!!

Oh, and BTW -- I wanna know what happened to those two gals second and third from the left in the front row. Especially the brunette with the big black hairdo.

I bet they were a riot. 😎

Meh. Beatlemania is a passing fad. Just give it another 50 years or so....

a))Funny, looking at the many gals some of those bouffants appear to be beauty shop coifs. Forest Hills concert was in '64.
I was born in '51, making me 13 at the time
No girls that I knew had hair like that, so
I'm guessing that they were born in the 40's. I know that they had Elvis, Ricky, Dion etc Always thought the Beatle's were my generation (50's), never gave much thought about those way older than me -
Talk about growing up with Blue Tinted McGuinn granny glasses

I was 7 at the time. My first Halloween costume was Beatle! Suit, wig, plastic guitar.

Where are the cool chicks? I never dressed or did my hair like that in my life.

Al -

VR sez - very funny, but I'm not Hank Snow. And I don't look even remotely like those bottom feeders in long gone Forest Hills.

noticed rob's comments about the hairdos and the look of those Beatle fans. My peer group wouldn't be caught dead looking like that. The surf set either had pixies or wore their hair long and straight with, or without, bangs. I had a lot of nice clothes (perks because Sandy & I were child models) but usually I ran around in a shift with a bikini underneath and assorted sandals or loafers. The small but mighty group of Berdoo diehard surfer dudes had longer hair than the Beatles before the Beatles. And we had the Marianne Faithfull look down before she surfaced. Nobody in the surf set wore their hair like fuckin Annette.

Here is a photo of fans on line to see The Weasels at Eddie's Lounge ten years later.

Let's see if his works. Click and paste, maybe it'll work.
