I was going through my archives this morning, looking for an interview I did with the redoubtable Southside Johnny , when I remembered this 1978 clip of Johnny, the Jukes and the guy who just wrote the theme for that Mickey Rourke movie.
I'll post that interview as soon as I find it, but in the meantime if that clip doesn't make you smile there's no hope for you.

Great clip! Southside and Bruce are just a couple of groups that you have turned me on to over the years.......that shirt looks familiar! Did my baby give you my shirt?

Saw the Glory Days video on VH1 Classic the other day.
A big heaping pile of phony.
I have a great deal of respect for the guy, but whew. No way he deserves a pass on that one.
Song sucks too. What the fuck's a speedball? Isn't that what killed Belushi?
Ah, the late, great Aogra --

I don't have a problem with Glory Days, but Born in the USA has always bugged me.
The idea that he, or Landau, had no idea the song could be misconstrued as a wingnut anthem is shall we say disingenuous.
So, this was from before Bru-u-u-ce! became Pete Seeger?
30 years ago. Yet as fresh as if it were recorded yesterday.
How great to hear this song again! Southside Johnny was all over the radio 30 years ago, but hardly gets a mention these days...
