I've always felt Cream were actually better as a studio band than as a live act. I saw them in 1968 in Chicago at a show that I remember being plagued by equipment issues. They seemed to be more interested, live, in showing off than anything else. That said give Disraeli Gears another listen. I think it's held up quite well over the years.

Ive always preferred Vinnie to Max.
Bruce would've been better served with a Junior Ginger, a Mini Moon, or, surely Vinnie Lopez. But Bruce wanted a human metronome, and a metronome he got.
