RIP Scott Miller: Part II

The Loud Family.

"Take Me Down (Too Halloo)."

Just wanted to second NYMary's farewell, and I have to add that the album above is one of the most magnificent pieces of music accomplished by anybody in the 20th Century.

He was only 53 years old when he passed? Goddamnit, this whole death shit is really starting to piss me off.

I'm so incredibly bummed by this news. 53 is much too young for anyone R.I.P. Scott. I hope he realized the legion of fans he had all around the world. Commercial success would have been great, but who knows why some make it and others don't.

Fuck! That about sums ups my feelings regarding this. Scott will be very missed.

Holy shit, no. That's so depressing.

I had the good fortune to see his bands three times; once as Game Theory, and twice as Loud Family. Always excellent.

It's just turned into a Scott Miller day in my office. i am so bummed.

I agree with Steve that "Plants and Birds and.." is one of the greatest musical accomplishments of the 20th Century. Scott was one of the few musicians that could bond together a 53 year old Dad (me) with his 18 year old son, and that's rare indeed. I'll miss him greatly and my heart goes out to his wife and 2 girls.

Sadder still? Scott was a suicide.

I can understand not emphasizing that point, and it should never overshadow the celebration of his life and music that I see all over the web. But it's worth knowing, for all of us of a certain age. Depression isn't just a young man's folly.
