It's Graham Gouldman Week!

From the early 21st century motion picture Just My Luck, and now the just released compilation CD Listen People: The Graham Gouldman Songbook 1964-2005....

...please enjoy McFly and the fiendishly catchy Gouldman power pop confection "I've Got You."

Never saw the movie, and was unaware of this band until the CD arrived at Casa BG on Thursday, but damn that's great stuff. Gouldman's been one of my favorite songwriters since forever, and it's nice to know that he hadn't lost his touch.

More, and more oddball, Gouldman stuff on the morrow.

Ok, I know nothing about McFly. Please tell me the video (not the song) is a parody of bad boy band videos. Seriously, no one could possibly have put together that uninterrupted string of video cliches on purpose, could they?

Re: the video -- I can make no such assurance.
:-)

Seriously, I was gonna post just the audio for the song (off the CD), but my file sharing service has been pissing me off for a few weeks, and I figured it was easier just to put up the video.

Limp. Volume and practiced moves does not equate energy or anything interesting musically.

Power pop at it's most boring. Hope GG made some royalties so someone made out okay.
