Macca: Heart to Heart

So Sir Paul has had a helluva year, what with the very nastily public divorce, the starlets, and the custody battle. But it turns out it was even more eventful than that.
Sir Paul McCartney has had a secret heart operation, it was revealed last night.

The 65-year-old had a coronary angioplasty, which opens up arteries and allows greater flow of blood.

It was performed in a private hospital in the autumn after he saw a Harley Street specialist at the London Clinic. The former Beatle is said to have recovered well.

Fuck it. He's been a vegetarian for 25 years. If he needs an angioplasty, I may as well pack it in and live on doughnuts and beer.

I mean, more so.

Jeebus. I was seriously thinking of giving up my one or two remaining vices as a New Years Resolution until I read this.

Screw it -- let's party!!!! Hell, in the long run, we're all dead anyway....

That is shocking. It was obvious he had some kind of eye surgery (which looks botched, IMHO), but this? I'm glad he's okay. I'm also glad I didn't swear off hamburgers.

Good lord, I hope you're wrong. I can't tell how you I don't want to live in a world in which there's only one surviving Beatle.....

Seriously -- if there was a god, they would all have lived to be fat and 97....

I was just aware of this yesterday... I love Paul since I was 14 (now I'm 37) and always felt a kind of guilt because I can't go veggie (I live in Argentina, the home of the finest cow meat)
But now, what should I think? Vegetarianism didn't look to be good for Linda's cancer, and now Paul needs an angioplasty?

Come on, let's eat meat.
Plants and vegetables are living beings too, anyway...
