Good Yontiff!

Okay, in honor of the Jewish New Year, here's Elvis Costello (in classic spastic Jerry Lewis mode) and the Attractions in the official 1978 promo film for "Pump It Up," from the still astonishing This Year's Model.

A coveted PowerPop No-Prize will be awarded the first reader who divines the clip's relevance to the theme of the forthcoming Friday edition of Weekend Listomania.

The living legend that I plan to see on Saturday? I mean, the most recent great show you have seen?

Could be, but no!

I just want to say that I'm rather irked that I couldn't persuade anybody to check out the nude Tori Amos pix downstairs.

Still astonishing is right. I used to like Armed Forces best, but I listed to TYM with the friend recently and became obsessed with how brilliant it is. How does a 23-year-old write something as nuanced as "The Beat" and "Chelsea?"

re Tori: ew.

I think there are now more Who compilations by a wide margin than are actual stand alone Who albums.

But no.

Here's a hint: It's something about the album, rather than the artist.
