The Friendly Stranger in the Black Sedan

Just back from a long and rather irksome weekend in Gomorrah on the Hudson; very tired, so my definitive post on the thousand sensitive beauties of The Wombles versus The Pipkins will have to wait until tomorrow.

While you wait, however, here's a video clip of perhaps the most satanically horrible horn band epic in the history of satanically horrible horn band epics (NYMary is really gonna hate me when she has to do the YouTube embed of this one).

Yes, it's the Ides of March and the worst Blood Sweat and Tears song BS&T never did -- "Vehicle".

I feel constrained to add at this point that I originally intended to post BS&T's almost as annoying "Lucretia McEvil" but, mercifully, no video of that song seems to have survived. Count your blessings.

Did he say "Composer John Denver"?

Well, it's 20 years or so after it originally came out, but here ya go!

Sadly, I don't think there's a video record of their classic "Symphony for the Devil" suite...

Man, the rest of the line-up on that show sounds pretty cool!

Hopefully, the rest of the acts didn't do such a piss-poor job of lipsynching...
